Dunn Benson Motorsports to Honor Robert Yates and his NASCAR #28 Car Paint Scheme at the DTWC this Weekend.
Dunn, NC (October 17, 2017) – Dunn Benson Motorsports Team owners Carlton and Kemp Lamm with driver Earl Pearson Jr. will have a special throw-back paint scheme this weekend at the Dirt Track World Championship. The Lamm family have been a long-time close family friend of NASCAR legend Robert Yates who was a NASCAR Championship Car Owner, Engine Builder, and Owner of Robert Yates Racing Engines until his recent passing after battling cancer on October 2nd. In his honor and memory, Carlton and Kemp Lamm will have the famous #28 black and red paint scheme that Robert Yates fielded for his driver at that time Davey Allison at this weekend’s Dirt Track World Championship in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Carlton and Kemp Lamm had known Robert Yates for over 35 years and considered him a very close friend. Robert was very instrumental to the Lamm’s and their racing endeavors and businesses over the years. “We wanted to do something special for the Yates Family and we felt like this would be a great tribute to a great man that impacted the motorsports industry tremendously. This paint scheme was one of Robert’s favorites and everyone will immediately recognize it as one of the iconic cars from NASCAR. We want to thank everyone at Lucas Oil Products for allowing us to do this tribute car and having their blessing to honor Robert Yates at the Dirt Track World Championship this weekend”, stated Kemp and Carlton Lamm, Team Owners of Dunn Benson Motorsports.
Dunn Benson Motorsports will be competing this weekend Friday and Saturday October 20-21st in the season finale of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for 2017. This weekend’s Dirt Track World Championship will pay $100,000 to the winner and is expected to draw a huge field of drivers from all over the country trying to win this crown jewel event. In 2016 Dunn Benson Motorsports and driver Earl Pearson Jr was in contention to win but finished a strong 2nd place in the feature event. Earl and the Team will be looking to improve one spot in this year’s crown jewel event and bring home the big check.
