Daniel Hemric

The Kannapolis, NC native began racing go-karts when just five years old at the 1/5-mile Concord Speedway (NC) winning 11 races and a track championship. Five years later he progressed to Bandoleros followed by Legends at age 16. In 2008, Hemric won the first of his back-to-back Legend Car Pro Championships. 2009 was a record-breaking year for Hemric with nearly 60 wins in just under 80 starts. He won the National Legend Car Pro Championship as well as the 2009 Summer Shootout Series Championship. Hemric advanced to Late Model competition at the end of that season driving for BDI Racing. In his Late Model debut, Hemric broke the Concord Speedway track qualifying record in the Pro Late Model category and finished second in the race. In 2010, Hemric won the inaugural Legends Million race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, winning the largest paycheck in Legend Car history – $250,000. Later that year, he began a three-year stint racing select events in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour. Hemric raced Late Model full seasons in 2012 and 2013, winning the 2012 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship, and the 2013 Summer Shootout Series Championship. In October 2013, Hemric made his NASCAR debut at Martinsville Speedway in the Camping World Truck Series with Eddie Sharp Racing. He capped off that season with a top-15 finish in the Truck Series race at Phoenix. His big break came with NTS Motorsports in the fall of 2014. In just his third Truck Series start and his debut on a speedway, Hemric posted a twelfth place finish that propelled his career to fulltime in NASCAR. He finished 7th for NTS Motorsports in the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Driver’s Championship with four “top-5”, and thirteen “top-10” finishes. His best finishes were 4th (three times), including one at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park road course, and one on the Eldora Speedway dirt track. Brad Keselowski called and Hemric moved to his team for 2016. Driving the #19 Brad Keselowski Racing Ford F-150 sponsored by Blue Gate Bank and Reese® Brands, Hemric qualified for the first ever NASCAR Camping World Chase tied for the most driver’s points earned in the 16 qualifying races. Richard Childress Racing (RCR) announced Sept. 17th, 2016 that it has signed Hemric to a multi-year agreement to race full-time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series beginning with the 2017 season. “Daniel has proven his talent with his numerous wins and championships throughout the years,” said Richard Childress, Chairman and CEO of RCR. “He has had an impressive start to his NASCAR career in the Camping World Truck Series, and we’re thrilled to add his incredible talent to our lineup for 2017. I look forward to watching him contend for championships under the RCR banner.” Hemric added during the announcement “This is such a great opportunity for me. There aren’t words that can describe what racing for RCR means to me, especially considering everything they have done as an organization for our sport. I’m excited to now officially be a small part of the company and am looking forward to working with everyone in Welcome, NC. We will hit the ground running in February at Daytona. With all the talent and experience RCR has in the XFINITY Series, I’m confident we can compete for wins and contend for the Championship.”
